Minutes of the General Meeting held on Monday May 12th, 2014 The meeting was called to order at approx. 8:04 p.m. - on-line Moderator/Chair. – President: Dave Gilmour Attendance (20 members): Anne McDougall, Dave & Patti Gilmour, Laura King, Doris Avery, Francine Gillanders, Irene & Len Waddell, Jenny Catton, KC O'Brien, Kevin Serjeant, Kim Long, Bernice Langley, Lee and Mary Jane Nowak, Marta Nettelfield, Mary Curl, Melissa & Mark Mathers, Shirley Bell Note: Due to technical difficulties there were several members who could not connect into the site: Minutes:  Dave: I assume everyone has had a chance to read last month's minutes. No errors or omission. Moved by Dave seconded by Jenny Catton - Minutes accepted Business Arising From the Minutes – None Treasurer’s Report – Kim Long Kim: Have received a check to be deposited for plaques and also one for membership renewal. Everything is still in progress as far as getting new bank accounts set up COMMITTEE REPORTS Show Committee  Anne: trophies are under control, had Mike and Jenny do the plaques, who do they send the bill to? also need to know how much to spend on judges gifts. Bernice is helping me by buying them . more places to choose from Dave: The bill is to be sent to Kim and as for judge's gifts what have we done in the past? Anne: I think $50.00 each, is what I spent last year. Bernice: I would like to try for a bit more of a budget.  You have the money. Anne: 60.00 is ok by me, tax takes up a % of it too Bernice: You will not be charged for subway fares or gas.  Just the gifts and wrap paper Dave: I think 50-60 dollars is a good figure Bernice: Not sure  what I can buy for that amount.  I used to spend more on our Judges and we had the same bank balance at the time.   These people come  and we do not pay them, so let's give them a half decent gift. Mary: I think 75 or 80 for the Specialty judge and 60 to 70 for the sweeps judge is fair Kevin: agreed Dave: OK Bernice: Just fine.   Will let you know Anne what I can find.   It will be nice.    Only it will be Made in Canada Mellisa/Mark: If anyone needs help with judges gifts or something along that line, I might be able to help with some neat things at good prices.  Just let me know. Results will be posted and plaques sent out  when available Fundraising: Patti Patti: I will be having a book sale at our local show in June. Does anyone else have anything to add?   Nomination Committee: Dave: As everyone was voted in by acclamation we will move on to general correspondence Reading of General Correspondence:  Cindy Thomas Mary: Cindy can`t get in and is at work - here is her report Received an application from Monika Pinsker to host a BCC Regional Specialty Show, Puppy & Veteran Sweepstakes, Parade of Champions & Combined Obedience/Rally Obedience Trial on April 5, 2015, in conjunction with the Renaissance Dog Association All Breed Shows. Received an application from Barry Green to host a BCC Regional Specialty & Sweepstakes on November 8, 2014, in conjunction with the United Kennel Club All Breed Shows.` Clarification was given that the United Kennel Club is a CKC club not the UKC that is a separate entity Special Service Committee: Deb Allardyce – (not in attendance) No report Good & Welfare: Lillian (not in attendance) Shirley: Barry Green`s wife Lynn passed away Mary: Lillian was notified of that and sent a card from the club Kim: I just wanted to say thank you very much for the lovely card I received from the club on my Mom's passing.  It was lovely Mary - From Lillian (after meeting): G&W...  sympathy cards sent to Kim Long, Barry Green Old Business:   Mary: Proposed amendments to By-Laws & Constitution The voting site will be up and running by Friday evening.  I apologise for the delay and will send a message out to all on the Yahoo list, in the minutes and to those not on the Yahoo  list by e-mail at that time.
